Essert Romand
The village
Essert-Romand is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department situated on a sunny hillside, between the winter skiing resort town of Morzine, and La Cote d’Abroz. Essert Romand has remained a tiny village since its settlement, and still has under 500 residents, having only increased its population by 100 in 150 years. It is fast becoming a popular place for holiday makers to stay and has recently been a perfect location for buyers wanting holiday homes thanks to its proximity to the slopes, its short drive to town and its incredible panoramic views. Out of season, Essert Romand becomes a small farming community, farming mainly sheep and goats and perfect for ramblers and walking tours. The village has a delightful Savoyard bar where you will often find many of the local faces and a popular restaurant, busy with guests driving up from around the surrounding areas.
Public transport
Although there is little public transport up to Essert Romand, there is a bus which passes through the town a few times a day, which, for €1 will take you to either Morzine and Les Gets.
