Finding the Apartment

The key box with the apartment keys and garage remote is in the interior parking next to the private garage. Enter the code for the covered parking and go towards the end, on the right is a garage with 6.1 on the front and the key box is on the left of it. Once the keys are collected the apartment can be accessed via an elevator from the parking or from the door at the front of the building.

Finding the apartment from the parking: Go through the blue door on the same side as the garage to find the elevator and press floor number 1, exit the elevator turn left, go through the door and head to the end of the corridor, the apartment door is signed.

Finding the apartment from the building front door: Walk in front of the building to the end, enter the code into the keypad then go up a flight of stairs to either take the elevator to floor 1 or continue up the stairs one level to access floor 1.

Codes are given on check in day.

You must put the key in the key box every time you go out so it doesn’t get lost – lost key charge is €200

Using the Key Box

Parking:

There is a private garage in the basement parking, access this parking by entering the code on the keypad to the left of the main garage door, continue to the end of the parking and on the right is a garage with a white door and a Mountain Xtra sign.

The keys have a remote fob on them so the main garage door can be opened using this fob.

Check in is from 4pm

Check out instructions:

Wash all plates, pots & pans so they are clean for the next guests + empty the dishwasher.
Clean oven + kitchen + (clean BBQ* if appropriate).
Remove food, drink, rubbish & recycling – dispose of it at the communal bins.
Leave all keys back in the key-box you got them from.

Wifi Not Working?

Sometimes the wifi box can disconnect from the internet even though it remains illuminated, this mostly happens after a power cut.

Find the wifi box (often in a fuse cupboard or under the TV).

Take the power lead out of the back of box and leave it disconnected for over 10 minutes.

Reconnect the power lead and give the box a few minutes to boot up, you may need to also press a power button on the box.

Try connecting again and ensure the passcode is entered correctly.

If you have any issues with the WIFI please report them by SMS or Whatsapp to the in-resort contact number during normal daytime hours.

Security Deposit:

If you booked direct through us then the security deposit (amount stated at point of booking) will be automatically deducted during your stay as an authorisation hold from the card you used to pay for the holiday.

Assuming there are no deductions required then the authorisation hold will be automatically released within 1 to 7 days after your departure.

If you booked through a third party channel such as Airbnb then you will need to consult them regarding their security deposit details.

House Rules:

NO SMOKING including on balconies or terrace, fine = £250

No loud noise after 10pm.
Respect your neighbours.
Remove outside shoes.
Store all bikes, skis, boards &, boots in the cave.
Report existing damage within 24 hours.
Report damage caused by your group the same day.
Unruly, rude, aggressive behaviour = loss of security deposit and / or eviction.
You are not permitted to help yourself to additional linen or towels.
Damage to linen, towels, furniture including by vomit, blood or makeup = costs deducted from security deposit.
Leave keys in the key box when you go out so they can’t be lost.
Lost keys fee = £200.
Close all doors & windows + turn off lights when you are out.

Sports Equipment Storage:

Skis / Boards / Bikes

The private garage is the secure location for Skis, boards and bikes.

Please note that it may not be possible to fit bikes and a car in this space therefore parking outside the building may be needed. The dimensions of the garage are – It is your responsibility to ensure the garage is locked at all times.

Rubbish & Recycling:

You are required to take all bin bags and recycling to the communal bin points.

At the roundabout with the Sherpa store, take the 3rd exit and go 50 metres up the street, there are 3 communal bins on the right hand side by the camping car parking.

There are three types of bin:

general waste
glass
cartons, plastic, paper + cans.

On departure: un-opened food / drink may be left for the cleaners. Oils, salt & pepper may be left for the next guests.

Please note: everything else must be disposed of. Any other rubbish / recycling left in the property on departure may result in additional charges / partial loss of security deposit.

TV:

TV / Orange TV / Freesat

The TV is connected to an Orange Box to access French programmes and a Freesat Box to access UK channels.

There are no SMART features.

Heating:

Heating Control

There is a central control on the wall just above the washing machine, everything is set but if you need to change the temperature simply press the plus and minus buttons until the display shows desired temperature then press the middle button to confirm.

The radiators can be individually controlled using their dials.

Towel Radiator

A full length towel radiator is in bathroom, it has a simple dial control to adjust the temperature up and down. Do not put clothes, gloves or anything other than towels on the units as they can damage the finish.

Hot Water

Hot water is provided from a central boiler in the building.

If all showers are being used at the same time or long showers are taken and hot water is used up then you may have to wait for the tanks to reheat.

Electricity:

Power Cuts / Fuse Board

To turn the mains power back on, find the electricity cupboard in the apartment hall. Press the black button (that is next to the red button) fully in, this is on the box next to the green box.

Then check that every RCD is up, they are the individual fuses on the left of every row of other fuses. Then check all other fuses are up.

Power cuts are common in French mountain properties and the power input into every property is limited.

Sometimes the power may blow if you are using too many electrical items at the same time such as; kettle, oven, hob, hot tub, towel rails, washing machines, tumble dryer etc. If this happens in particular when cooking, try switching off some of these units until you have finished cooking.

If you have pressed the main trip switch back on but still have no power then, find out if your neighbours have power or not before contacting the in resort WhatsApp / SMS number.

Kitchen:

Coffee Machine - Nespresso Essenza Mini

Fill the water tank at the rear of the machine, press the cup button to turn the machine on. Lift the lever on the top and drop in a coffee pod with the foil facing towards you, place a cup under the spout and wait for the flashing lights to stop. Once the machine is ready press the small cup icon for an espresso sized cup or the larger cup icon for a longer coffee.

Using the coffee machine

Hob

The hob is an induction and therefore needs the pan to be on the heating zone before pressing the controls.

Turn the dial that corresponds to the chosen heating zone to regulate the heat.

Turn off when not in use, remember the heating zones will still be hot for a while.

Oven

The dial on the left selects the oven function, the dial on the right selects the temperature.

Please ensure the oven and trays etc are clean before you leave.

Fridge Freezer

There is a large full size fridge with small freezer compartment in the kitchen. The total capacity is 191 litres with the freezer section being 18 litres.

Fondue

The fondue set is normally stored on top of the sideboard next to the kitchen. Please ensure it is left clean and all pieces are kept together.

For the burner you can buy ‘Alcool à Bruler’ liquid or fuel gel packs in any supermarket.

Washing Machine & Dryer Combi

It is your responsibility to make sure the doors onto the terrace and all the windows are closed and locked when you are not in the property and at the end of your stay.

No smoking on balconies / terrace.

Please fold away the sun loungers when not in use to avoid weather damage.

Remove any litter from all exterior areas on departure.

This gives you the opportunity to purchase the multi pass at the reduced daily rate of €3 per person per day for the duration of your holiday. A hands free card also has to be purchased for €1.50

Or you can follow the instructions in the email and purchase in advance, especially if you have hands free cards from previous visits.

The multipass must be purchased for the duration of your stay. It’s free for under 5’s

The Multi Pass allows unlimited daily access to a vast number of activities throughout the Portes Du Soleil i.e. swimming pools, chair lifts as a pedestrian, tennis courts, cultural sites and public transport etc.

Please note that the use of chair lifts for mountain bikes is not included in the multi pass. However if you have purchased a Portes du Soleil MTB pass, you can have a multi pass for the duration of your stay for free. Take your MTB pass and the multi pass QR that was emailed to you to a lift pass office and they will issue a pass for you.

There are also many other activities that are not part of the multi pass scheme, but they will offer a discount if you have a multi pass card – it’s always worth asking.

Depending on the property size and rating as set by the local authorities there is a nightly rate applicable for every adult per night stayed.

There will be an official form with the amount detailed left on the table in your property.

Please leave cash in the envelope provided at the end of your stay.
