Finding the Apartment

From the road the main building entrance door is just next to the letterboxes, however the apartment key is kept in a key box in the parking space so head to the parking at the rear of the building and you’ll see covered spaces opposite, find the space for apartment 17 (which confusingly is labeled parking numbered 9) with the Mountain Xtra sign for Den and look on the side of the pillar on the right as you’re facing the parking space, enter the given code to retrieve the key and then walk back (either side of the building) to return to the front of building.

At the main entrance there is a keypad, press the key button followed by the 4 digit code and press the key button again, the door latch will release.

Go up the stairs to the top floor, go through the wooden door ahead and walk to the end of the corridor, you’ll see the apartment on your left with a Mountain Xtra sign on the door.

All codes are given on check-in day.

The same key also unlocks the door to the ski / bike storage caves located on the ground floor and to the specific cave door for apartment 17.

You must put the key in the key box every time you go out so it doesn’t get lost – lost key charge is €200

There is one set of keys, so if the last person out always puts the key in the keybox, then the first person back can always get in.

Depuis la rue, l’entrée principale du bâtiment se trouve juste à côté des boîtes aux lettres. Cependant, la clé de l’appartement est rangée dans un coffre à clés sur le parking. Rendez-vous donc au parking situé à l’arrière du bâtiment. Vous verrez des places couvertes en face. Repérez l’emplacement de l’appartement 17 (qui, de manière déroutante, porte le numéro 9) avec le panneau Mountain Xtra pour Den. Regardez sur le côté droit du pilier, face au parking. Saisissez le code indiqué pour récupérer la clé, puis retournez à l’entrée principale (par l’un ou l’autre côté du bâtiment).

À l’entrée principale, vous trouverez un clavier numérique. Appuyez sur la touche « clé », puis sur le code à 4 chiffres et appuyez à nouveau sur la touche « clé ». Le loquet de la porte se déverrouillera.

Montez les escaliers jusqu’au dernier étage, passez la porte en bois et allez jusqu’au bout du couloir. L’appartement se trouvera sur votre gauche, avec un panneau Mountain Xtra sur la porte.

Tous les codes vous seront communiqués le jour de votre arrivée.

Cette même clé ouvre également la porte des locaux à skis/vélos situés au rez-de-chaussée et celle de l’appartement n° 17.

Vous devez déposer la clé dans le boîtier prévu à cet effet à chaque fois que vous sortez afin d’éviter de la perdre. En cas de perte, les frais s’élèvent à 200 €.

Il y a un jeu de clés, donc si la dernière personne à sortir met toujours la clé dans la boîte à clés, alors la première personne qui revient peut toujours entrer.

Using the Keybox

Parking:

There is one allocated private space for the apartment, follow the building around the rear to find the parking lot, continue towards the covered parking ahead and find the space marked number 9 that also has a Mountain Xtra sign on it.

Do not use other apartments parking spaces.

Check in:

Check in is from 4pm

On arrival day send a WhatsApp or SMS text message between 4pm to 7pm to the resort number: +33 6 47 39 35 90, include:

estimated time of arrival

Check out instructions:

Wash all plates, pots & pans so they are clean for the next guests + empty the dishwasher.
Clean oven + kitchen + (clean BBQ* if appropriate).
Remove food, drink, rubbish & recycling – dispose of it at the communal bins / recycle points. >Your nearest is detailed in the rubbish & recycling section of this e-manual.
Leave all keys back in the key-box you got them from.

Wifi Not Working?

Sometimes the wifi box can disconnect from the internet even though it remains illuminated, this mostly happens after a power cut.

Find the wifi box (often in a fuse cupboard or under the TV).

Take the power lead out of the back of box and leave it disconnected for over 10 minutes.

Reconnect the power lead and give the box a few minutes to boot up, you may need to also press a power button on the box.

Try connecting again and ensure the passcode is entered correctly.

If you have any issues with the WIFI please report them by SMS or Whatsapp to the in-resort contact number during normal daytime hours.

Security Deposit:

If you booked direct through us then the security deposit (amount stated at point of booking) will be automatically deducted during your stay as an authorisation hold from the card you used to pay for the holiday.

Assuming there are no deductions required then the authorisation hold will be automatically released within 7 days after your departure.

If you booked through a third party channel such as Airbnb then you will need to consult them directly regarding their security deposit refund policy.

To ensure that your security deposit is returned in full and no deductions are required please make sure that all the check instructions are carried out in particular with regards to disposing of your rubbish at the communal recycling points (see rubbish & recycling section of the e-manual), also be aware of section 14 of our terms & conditions. This refers to property damage and damage to linen & towels, including blood staining, pen marks, fake tan or make up damage, as you will be liable for costs of additional linen cleaning, stain removal or item replacement.

House Rules:

NO ski boots, skis, bikes or other sports equipment in the property.
Store all bikes, skis, boards &, boots in the provided sports equipment storage area as detailed in the relevant section of this e-manual.
NO SMOKING including on balconies or terrace, fine = £300
No pets, dogs or other animals.
No loud noise after 10pm.
Respect your neighbours.
Remove outside shoes.
Report existing damage within 24 hours.
Report damage caused by your group the same day.
Unruly, rude, aggressive behaviour = loss of security deposit and / or eviction.
You are not permitted to help yourself to additional linen or towels.
Damage to linen, towels, furniture including by vomit, blood or makeup = costs deducted from security deposit.
Leave keys in the key box when you go out so they can’t be lost.
Lost keys fee = £200.
Close all doors & windows + turn off lights when you are out.

Sports Equipment Storage:

Skis / Boards / Bikes

There is a private cave for the apartment where you can store your sports equipment, to find this go to the main entrance of the building and unlock the door marked ‘Caves’ in the foyer, the apartment key will open this door, then walk to the end of the corridor keeping left, there is a door marked 17 on the right with a small sticker on it.

The apartment key also opens the private cave.

All codes are given on check-in day.

Rubbish & Recycling:

You are required to take all bin bags and recycling to the communal bin points.

On the main road to Morzine, just opposite the Florimont building are communal bins with recycling, there are three types of bin:

general waste
glass
cartons, plastic, paper + cans.

On departure: un-opened food / drink may be left for the cleaners. Oils, salt & pepper may be left for the next guests.

Please note: everything else must be disposed of. Any other rubbish / recycling left in the property on departure may result in additional charges / partial loss of security deposit.

TV:

Samsung SMART TV

There are French and UK channels available plus the Smart Apps.

For FR TV: On the home screen select ‘Live TV Terrestrial’ to access.

For UK TV: Turn on the Manhattan box that is in the cupboard under the TV. On the TV home screen select ‘Source’ then scroll along to HDMI 1 – Unknown.

Using the Samsung remote control:

Home button “house” – will always take you back to the main menu on the TV where you can find all of the apps and menus.

Use the circle on the remote to navigate through the icons, press the button in the centre of the wheel to select the app you wish to load.

To change channels use the up and down arrows on the remote by pushing the horizontal bar up or down on a rocker. Pressing and holding this bar up or down will fast scan through the channels. To access the channel menus as an ‘EPG’ press this bar in the centre and hold for a few seconds then press again briefly.

Pressing the button in the centre of the circle will always select the desired channel.

You can sign in to Netflix, Amazon Prime etc but don’t forget to sign out at the end of your stay!

Heating:

Electric Radiators

There are individual electric radiators in each room, each with slightly different controls.

Front bedroom the LCD display should say ‘CON’ for comfort mode, adjust the temperature by pressing the plus and minus buttons, do not change any other settings.

Hallway only the temperature should need to be regulated, do this by pressing the up and down arrows.

Living area and larger bedroom the control bar should be on the sunshine icon, then simply use the dial to reduce or increase the temperature.

Towel Radiator

A full length towel radiator is in the bathroom, they have a simple control unit to adjust the temperature up and down by turning the dial or boost for an hour if needed by pressing the on/off switch. No other settings need to be used.

Do not put clothes, gloves or anything other than towels on the units as they can damage the finish.

Hot Water

Hot water is provided from an independent boiler that feeds this apartment only. There is a large tank which should be plenty for all, however if long showers are taken and the hot water is used up then you may have to wait for the tank to reheat.

There is a reheat control and override button on the fuse board marked Chauffe-Eau. When this switch is set to ‘Auto’ it means the tank will reheat overnight using a lower electricity rate. To override this ‘Auto’ reheat push the switch to the upper position 1 the tank, once the water tank is hot this switch will automatically move back to ‘Auto’. The bottom position 0 means the water heating is off and should never be in this position when the apartment is in use.

Electricity:

Power Cuts / Fuse Board

To turn the mains power back on, find the electricity cupboard in the downstairs hall. Push large grey switch up to the I position and not the 0 position.

Then check that every RCD is up, they are the individual fuses on the left of every row of other fuses. Then check all other fuses are up.

Power cuts are common in French mountain properties and the power input into every property is limited.

Sometimes the power may blow if you are using too many electrical items at the same time such as; kettle, oven, hob, hot tub, towel rails, washing machines, tumble dryer etc. If this happens in particular when cooking, try switching off some of these units until you have finished cooking.

If you have pressed the main trip switch back on but still have no power then, find out if your neighbours have power or not before contacting the in resort WhatsApp / SMS number.

Kitchen:

Coffee Machine - Nespresso Citiz

Fill the water tank at the rear of the machine, press the cup button to turn the machine on. Lift the lever on the top and drop in a coffee pod with the foil facing towards you, place a cup under the spout and wait for the flashing lights to stop. Once the machine is ready press the small cup icon for an espresso sized cup or the larger cup icon for a longer coffee.

Using the coffee machine

Hob

The hob is an induction and therefore needs the pan to be on the heating zone before pressing the controls.

Turn the dials off when not in use, remember the heating zones will still be hot for a while.

Oven

The dial on the left selects the oven function, the dial on the right selects the temperature.

Please ensure the oven and trays etc are clean before you leave.

Fridge / Freezer

There is an under-counter fridge with a freezer compartment in the kitchen. The total capacity is 122 litres with the freezer section being 17 litres.

Washing Machine & Dryer Combi

There is a washing machine in the WC in the apartment hallway. It is advised not to use it if also using the oven, hob, kettle etc. As in some properties having too many electrical items on at the same time can cause the power to trip.

Select the desired programme then press “Depart/Pause” to start the cycle.

Other Info:

Balcony / Windows / Doors

It is your responsibility to make sure the glass door onto the terrace and all the windows are closed and locked when you are not in the property and at the end of your stay.

No smoking on balconies / terrace.

Remove any litter from all exterior areas on departure.

Electric shutter

There is an electric shutter for the window in the smaller bedroom and the switch is on the wall near the curtain. Press the middle button to activate then the up or down arrow as needed. Pressing the middle button will pause the shutters at any height whilst they are rolling.

Cot and Highchair

There is one cot and one highchair available, they are usually stored in the utility cupboard on the top shelf. If more are required it is essential to reserve in advance.

Wii

Underneath the TV is a cupboard with a Wii console.

To reach Pleney or Super Morzine by bus:

At the junction with the main road (just outside the apartment building) turn left and walk down the road, follow the road round to the left until you see the roundabout. The bus stop is a wooden shelter in front of hotel ‘Village Clubs du Soleil’

Your bus stop name = Rond Point de la Coutettaz

Your bus route = “lignes A D E C N – all service this bus stop.

To reach Pleney or Super Morzine take any bus on A D E N route

If you wish to take a bus back from the Pleney the quickest route will be to take a N bus from the main Pleney bus stop – however as all of the buses run a circular route you will have to travel most of the route before arriving back at the bus stop.

To reach Prodains (to ski Avoriaz) by bus:

To find the bus stop cross over the road from the junction outside the apartment building, follow the pavement for approx 10 meters then take the metal pedestrian steps down to the main road. Walk down the road past the fire station and you will see a wooden bus stop shelter to the left of the roundabout

Your bus stop name: Rond Point de la Moulle au Clerc

Your bus route: Linge A (take a bus that has arrived from the left, not one that has come down the road towards the bus stop)

The Multi Pass allows unlimited daily access to a vast number of activities throughout the Portes Du Soleil i.e. swimming pools, chair lifts as a pedestrian, tennis courts, cultural sites and public transport etc.

Please note that the use of chair lifts for mountain bikes is not included in the multi pass. However if you have purchased a Portes du Soleil MTB pass, you can have a multi pass for the duration of your stay for free. Take your MTB pass and the multi pass QR that was emailed to you to a lift pass office and they will issue a pass for you.

There are also many other activities that are not part of the multi pass scheme, but they will offer a discount if you have a multi pass card – it’s always worth asking.

Depending on the property size and rating as set by the local authorities there is a nightly rate applicable for every adult per night stayed.

There will be an official form with the amount detailed left on the table in your property.
